SBEM Calculations & Energy Performance Certificates

The Simplified Building Energy Model (SBEM) is the Government approved software for producing energy assessments on non-domestic buildings.

SBEM is used as a tool for the National Calculation Method (N.C.M) of the energy performance of buildings.

An SBEM is required by building control at the development design stage. SBEMs can only be provided by qualified Non-Domestic Energy Assessors. The SBEM calculation will then need to be finalised at the development as built stage and an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) produced. An EPC is a summary certificate based on the SBEM calculation. It is required for selling a property and is required to be issued to building control.

SBEM is also used within Part L2 building regulations compliancy for non-domestic buildings. We offer a complete service for Part L2A & L2B compliancy through carbon dioxide emission rates (BER vs. DER). Not only will we provide you with your compliancy assessment but if required, recommendations and outline specification to achieve compliancy.
