BREEAM Assessments (All Buildings)

BRE’s Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) is the leading and most widely used environmental assessment method for buildings.

It sets the standard for best practice in sustainable design and has become the de facto measure used to describe a building’s environmental performance.

There are ten different categories within the assessment; Management, Health and Wellbeing, Energy, Transport, Water, Waste, Pollution, Land Use and Ecology, Materials and Innovation.

Points are awarded against each category issue, and an overall BREEAM rating awarded to the development at the end of the build.

BREEAM may be mandatory or voluntary depending on your local authority policy; however it can promote the environmental credentials and benefits of a building to potential purchasers and tenants.
